How to create a ribbon with CSS3

I knew this technique is well-known for a long time, but not many methods tick all my requirements.  Not until I came across this nifty ribbon created by Kushagra Agarwal.  His ribbon contains all the tiny details.

• Gradient background
• Stitches on both sides
• Shadow on one end

I've put the scripts in my jsfiddle for reference purpose.

I've modified it to be left sided.
