How to cheat fast money in Dragon's Dogma

I've spent countless hours of looting and grinding in Dragon's Dogma world, including the highly praised expansion, Dark Arisen.  Before I grew tired of killing the same creatures over and over again, I've succumbed to the dark side.  After reading the long post from PS3 Save Modder team, X-GHOST-X, I decided to either make an attempt or give up playing it...

Here's a noob walkthrough for Windows7(x86) and PS3 users.  Please use this at your own risk and always make a backup before working on hacks.

Requirements:
Steps:
  1. Install PS3 Bruteforce Save Data program
  2. Open it, you might encounter a system error as shown below
Download the missing DLL file from here
You will have to extract msvbvm50.dll from msvbvm50.zip to the relevant system directory. By default, this is:
    C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me)
    C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000)
    C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP, Vista, 7)

If you use a 64-bit version of Windows, you should also place msvbvm50.dll in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ Make sure overwrite any existing files (but make a backup copy of the original file) and reboot your computer afterwards.

If the problem still occurs, try the following:
    - Open Windows Start menu and select "Run...".
    - Type CMD and press Enter (or if you use Windows ME, type COMMAND)).
    - Type regsvr32 msvbvm50.dll and press Enter.
  3. Copy Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen PS3 game save file to thumbdrive
  4. Transfer save file to local computer, preferably create a new folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Bruteforce Save Data\SAVED, the save file structure should be PS3 > SAVEDATA > BLES017940
  5. Back to Bruteforce program, update cheat library if available.  I didn't assign any value to console and user id, leave it as default since I'm modifying my own save file.  Then browse to new "SAVED" folder that contains the "SAVEDATA" folder.

  6. Follow the steps below if you've "unreadable" value in key column or you've Visual C++ package issue.
Missing or incompatible Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package
Download the package here and install only vcredist_x86.exe and restart Bruteforce.
  7. Select DATA0.DAT on the bottom left hand corner section, click Decrpyt PFD > Decrpyt All Files. The background will change to green once successfully decoded.  You will find a file named ~files_decrypted_by_pfdtool.txt is created in SAVED folder.
  8. Extract Dragon's Dogma Editor program to a folder, e.g. D:\editor\.
  9. Copy the decoded DATA0.DAT file to editor folder, open Dragons Dogma - Editor.exe.
  10. Open DATA0.DAT in editor, and find "mGold" keyword by clicking Tools > Find and Replace. Be sure to always search from top as the first matching record is your character's HP and the rest is for your pawn and cpu´s.
    Open Dragon's Dogma editor
    Change <s32 name="mGold" value="9999999"> for max gold
  11. This tutorial will be focus on cheating gold, for more hacking on your character's attributes and rare gears or weapons, refer to this post.  When you're done, click File > Save.  Close the editor.
  12. Copy the modded DATA0.DAT back to SAVED folder.
  13. Open Bruteforce, do a quick refresh, select DATA0.DAT then click Update PFD > Update PFD (Partial). Select Yes to encrypt the file.
Update PFD > Encrypt PFD > Verify PFD > Build!
  14. Click Verify PFD to check if there's no error.
  15. Click Rebuild > Rebuild Partial, then select Yes to update PARAM.SFO with Profile: BLANK.
  16. Copy the whole PS3 folder which contains the modded save file from local computer to thumbdrive
  17. Copy from thumbdrive to overwrite the save file in PS3
